Honorable James Whittemore,

I appreciate your decision to hear the argument for judgment for Mr Tom Spellissy.

I have known Tom Spellissy since 1975 as we entered The United States Military Academy together. Tom is a classmate, colleague and friend. While at West Point, Tom and I were on many successful athletic teams together, in academic classes/seminars, and military training summer details.

Since graduation from West Point, Tom and I have had the opportunity to attend officer professional education courses together and I have seen Tom and various class reunions. We have many mutual friends, all respected members of the military and/or community.

In my opinion, Tom Spellissy is a man of character, values, honor, integrity and courage. As an active duty Colonel in the US Army myself, I would be privileged to work with /for Tom Spellissy today.

Again, thank you for consideration to hear the argument for judgment not withstanding the verdict.
